Hello binah1208, thanks for your question.
My first question: did you receive any feedback from the programs that did not admit you this year? If so, what was that feedback?
As you know with reapplications, the key is always what have you done and how much have you grown since you last applied. What new experiences can you discuss? How have you evolved as a leader? The onus is on you to demonstrate to the admissions committees that you are a markedly stronger candidate than the last time you applied.
So, my second question centers around this: how are you stronger right now than when you last applied? Since you applied in R2 last season, that hasn’t left you a lot of time to develop growth and change in your profile. Signing up for activities now will not move the needle.
My third point centers around your career choice. I always advocate for applicants going with their gut. If you really want to change to finance, just know that is a career change many applicants will also share, but if you have a logical and understandable rationale, then I think it’s okay. From what I read, though, I’m not 100% clear on your motivation for the change. You’ll have to make that clearer to the adcoms. I suggest painting a career arc/picture that cohesively ties together your past, present, and future.
I’m happy to comment further with additional information.
I hope this helps!
Best of luck,
Brian
