Ok here we are :)

reading carefully the stem ALWAYS when you deal with IR and also Verbal section of Gmat

Fort he first one Fb is 104 and apple 498. Roud the last one to 500. So 104 / 38 (the price of 1 IPO - by the way I do not know what is it but is not important so much) = 2.7. Then, 2.7 * 500 you roughfly have the same amount. So the answer is 183

Fo the second one onece again round the import of the first ten companies (alike of the remaining 19) and suddenly you can see that the sum of the 10 companies is MORE of the rest, combined.

Infact the answer are correct :)

Thanks for your response .

It is given how much Facebook's stock would have to increase . so it must be 183 - 38 =145 .

My two cents ... Don't dare to make round-up or approximations in IR. even in this question (part B) ... Total Market Caps of first 10 and rest are very close. So Do the actual Math. However, if u really want to do approximations, at least take first three digits of each and than add them.

PS : Unfortunately, in IR, there are no points for partial correct answers :-(. So we need to be extra careful in those questions in which we have already given correct answers for other parts of that question.

I agree but following also the common sense you can overcome this difficult task aks IR.

last but not least, IR doen't impact your score at all. so. jump into the fire ;)

My attempt at the first part :
104,000 market cap of FB
$38 value of 1 share so number of shares:

104000/38 =2736.84

Each of these FB shares will have to be 498,704 / 2736.84 =182.21 so that FB total market cap equals Apple.
So that's $183

Initially I had also calculated 182.21-38 = 145 and chosen first option but question says "increase TO" and NOT "increase By"hence 183 it the correct answer.
