MGMAT CAT new caliberation

I just noticed the following message on my MGMAT CAT review page, does this mean the official GMAT exam calibration was updated, resulting in the following change in MGMAT CATs?
Honestly i don't know what this message means, maybe someone has a better understanding of the following message.

"CAT Recalibration – August 29, 2012
We have recalibrated our CAT scoring. CATs taken AFTER 11:00 AM EDT on August 29, 2012 are scored according to the new calibration. Older CAT scores are unaffected."

So this is what triggered a concern in my mind, I gave MGMAT CAT 3 weeks back and scored 680.
After that I didn't give any tests, and just prepared Verbal & Quant.

I believe that my prep has become stronger, but when i have MGMAT CAT test today , i felt it was "much" easier... and scored a 750.

I am analyzing the reports but at the same wanted to know if someone else has observed a similar pattern.

I would like to know if they made the scoring on the questions easier. I haven't taken a MGMAT CAT yet so this is a little troubling for me.

Will it be a waste to look at the score as a gauge for where I am? I know the practice will still be worth it, I'm just voicing a concern.

Seems like it has nothing to do with the actual GMAT CAT scoring from that message.

i agree with you, the test felt a bit easier than the earlier ones.

After my 3 week prep, i was expecting 700-720 level score, but the 750 and the message about calibration is kinda confusing me too.

I will write to MGMAT support or one of their reps on this forum so that they can provide more info on this. Will share on this forum whatever i find out.

never mind i checked with MGMAT folks, and it seems i had exhausted the toughest questions as it was the last of the 6 tests..

Hey guys,

There are only so many 700+ level questions in the bank so if you perform really well on your earlier tests, your later tests will feel easier. This doesn't have anything to do with calibrating the CATs.

We calibrate CAT scoring about once every year so that we can predict your real GMAT scores as accurately as possible. All the questions are still the same. If you want to get a better sense of what your score is on tests taken before August 29th of this year, deduct 10 to 20 points. Please contact our Student Services department at studentservices@manhattangmat.com or 800-576-4628 for more information.
