Reading your profile, it is obvious that you have excelled in every aspect of your life and I would consider you to be a competitive candidate at every school that you have on your list. However, being a competitive candidate is simply not enough -- you have to submit and application that makes you stand out from your fellow applicants -- which well over 50% of all applicants are also competitive at these schools. This means that you have to work very hard in submitting a well crafted application (with compelling essays), strong recommendations, a strong interview, etc. These are the final make or break aspects of your candidacy -- and those that will either allow you to attend a school like HBS or not.

Hi all,

Requesting a profile evaluation.

GMAT: 750 (Q51, V 40), AWA 6.0, IR 6
Origin: Indian
Age: 28

Academics: Bachelors in Chemical Engineering: (7.86/10)
Post Grad Diploma in Industrial Engineering Management (7.83/10)

Work Experience: 78 months (at matriculation - assuming Fall 2013 intake) in one of the leading consumer goods companies.

Have had 3 roles so far with good leadership experiences.

1. In my first role I worked on designing and implementing a key strategy project for the company.

2. In my second role, I was a sales manager and led a team of 22 people (with 540 indirect subordinates) and managed a business unit with a turnover of 135 Mn $ p.a.

3. In my third role, I am the brand manager for the south asian region for one of the biggest foods brands in the world. Handle a business with a turnover of 38 Mn $ and am responsible for topline and bottomline.

Extra curriculars: Several significant and varied extra curriculars.

a) Winner of a business plan competition hosted by a leading antivirus software company
b) an amateur national level quizmaster - I have hosted over 30 quiz shows
c) Manager of a quizzing club in college
d) Was the group head for an online business challenge

Wanted to know your opinion on my chances for the following colleges:

1. HBS
2. Wharton
3. LBS
4. INSEAD
5. Kellogs
6. IMD

I think you have a good shot at all of these schools. It will just depend on execution of your essays and how well you articulate your goals. Also, make sure to get good recommendation letters.
