Hi All, Here goes my short de-brief but with some questions.
I am a non-native speaker from India. I took gmat in United states, as I am here on a short trip. I know that I am weak in verbal and I practiced a lot to improve. My gmat prep scores are as below.
Prep1:- 690 (Q49, V35)
Prep2:- 710 (Q50, V37)
Today(10/09) I took my GMAT. Test center was so good and initial formalities were a breeze. AWA topic was easy and I finished it comfortably on time. I feel that I have done pretty good in AWA. IR was OK and I attempted 9 out 12. However, I am not so concerned of AWA. Maths was my strongest section in entire GMAT and I killed it. I thought I would get 51. Nevertheless 50 is not too worse. Next comes verbal, my not so comfortable section in GMAT. My gmat prep and
MGMAT score were in 35, 36 range so I was expecting atleast 35 before the start of exam. To my surprise the exam was tough. I found them so tough that I could not correlate the difficulty level with any of the practice material. In CR, out of 13 or 14 questions. 80% of questions were related to either boldface, or evaluate the passage. I found them so tough that I never encountered such questions in either
OG 13 or manhattan tests. Not sure, As I attempting the test in US, I might have given with difficult verbal section. Overall, I am not at all satisfied with this score because I know I am much better that what the current score says.
Here goes my questions:-
1) I am planning to retake but some of the schools that I am planning to apply have Nov1 as R2 deadline. The only latest I can get next gmat date in Nov15th. Will schools consider my 2nd score if I send it late?
2) For retake, how should I start with? I became comfortable with all the 3 sections in verbal as I started my preparation long time back. In actual GMAT I found almost all the questions tough than what I practiced (OG13,
MGMAT, some other paper based tests).
Please reply.
