A, B, C) I think it needs "that" before the sentence.
D) Sounds ok.
E) "that, resembling" doesn't sound correct.

I'd choose D.

yup I am with D.

al A B E use Pronoun "That" ...which is wrong it should be it.

between C and D. D makes more sense cause C gives the impressing that the animal is found resembing .....:roll: :roll:

A, B and C are out because we need "that" to introduce a restrictive clause. You can try saying this sentance "First discovered more than 30 years ago, ... , a four-and-a-half-inch animal found...." Doesn't it sound weird?

This would be better "First discovered more than 30 years ago, ... , a four-and-a-half-inch animal that is found...."


E is out because "that, resembling" is not the correct usage.

D is right. The "it" is okay in this sentance because it has a clear referant, "a four and a half inch animal."

C)..."found" and "resembling" are participles (past and present) that describe the animal. D) should be out b/c it lacks parallelism. moreover, the tense is wrong.

A for me.

I think resembles a humming bird is correct than resembling a humming bird. So it should be between A and D. I do not think that is required. Hence I would go with A.

I agree you need participle whhic acts as adjective in order to maintain ||ism

so C is the answer.

OA is C

Chriistoph, can you please explain why "that is found" is incorrect?


"that is found" and "it resembles" are not parallel. conjunction (that) + linking verb (is) + verb (found) and subject (it) + resembles (verb). it should read like this "...that is found and resembles...".
