Hi, I'm a longtime lurker on this board. I took the GMAT for the first time in November and scored a 680. I was shooting for 700+ so I had to retake the test. I was prepping by going through the Kaplan and Princeton Review GMAT books and by going through problems on this board. I took the GMAT Prep and PowerPrep practice tests again, but I still wasn't cracking 700 as verbal was really holding me back. Frustrated, I decided to enroll in a commercial course. I decided on Veritas, and thought the course materials were awesome. I really shored up my weakness in verbal as the explanations on the grammar and syntax I needed for the exam were concise and on point. Also, in math the stuff on probability and combinatorics blew away anything else I had seen. There were probably around 1200 questions and each one had a detailed explanation, so I stopped going to classes, since the instructor didn't add much. I took the test 3 days after my course ended and when I saw 740 pop up on the screen I literally jumped out of my seat! I'm going to be applying for '07 entrance and I am relieved I finally got the GMAT out of my hair.
BTW, I am selling my Veritas course materials. They are in pristine condition, and have never been written in. I am selling all the materials (which include 13 diagnostic tests) for $500. The course costs $1500, so you are saving $1000. If anyone is interested contact me at
