Hi hammerofodin,

To start, you've improved a great deal from your initial 460, so you shouldn't overlook that accomplishment. That having been said, GMAC has publicly stated that the Official Score that you earn on Test Day is within +/- 30 points of actual ability. Assuming a similar 'swing' in how your CATs function, most of your CAT score results show that you essentially performed the same each time (about 620 +/- a few points). Thus, it's likely that "your way" of approaching the GMAT will continue to earn you a score at this general level. While you're closer to a 680+ than you probably realize, you'll almost certainly need to make adjustments to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections to consistently score at that higher level - and it's likely that all of that training will take at least another month of consistent, guided study (and possibly longer if you're "stubborn" about how you approach the Exam). This is meant to say that 20 days might not be enough time to hit your Goal Score.

Before we discuss your ESR, I'd like to know a bit more about your studies and goals:

1) What study materials have you used so far?
2) What are the exact application deadlines that you're facing?

Thank you for your response. Basically, I feel that I cover all concept and I am not sure what should be my strategy. Sould it be solving 600-700 questions or +700 questions? Or revising concepts and my wrong answers? Actually I was feeling quite comfortable with CR but apparently I screwed it in actual GMAT. To answer your questions;

1.So far MGMAT Books, E-Gmat for Verbal (SC+CR) Quite helpful, OG and GmatClub Tests and documents.
2. Mid and end January. I am aiming scholarship so early deadlines are crucial for me.

I will be more than glad if you suggest some retake strategies. I have three hours in week days and free weekend. I can be persistent about my study plan.

Thanks a lot!

Player, The verbal is killing you! Focus more on the verbal. Try a different prep vendor, or buy "used" verbal prep books from eBay. I just scored a 10-book full course for $70! Hang in there -- Peace...

Thank you for your response. Currently, I have e-gmat account and for SC it was very useful and boost my score. But I believe CR wordings are very different from actual GMAT wordings therefore I couldn't apply strategies that I learn. (Pre-thinking, negations etc.)

Which material do you study on?

30 years ago I used a $15, 800-page book. I am currently helping my son. I am using free videos and buying used books on eBay.

Hi hammerofodin,

Continuing to work through lots practice questions (regardless of the 'implied difficulty level') is NOT a good use of your time right now. Based on all of the information that you've provided, "your way" of approaching this process continues to earn you a GMAT score right around 620. To hit your Goal Score, you need to learn and practice the proper Tactics (on however many questions are needed for those new Tactics to become your "default way" of dealing with the GMAT).

I send you some notes/suggestions based on your ESR.
