Assume we need x mL of the 15% solution. Then 15%*x of that is the acid alone. Currently, we have 120 mL of solution and 9.6 mL of acid. Since the result must be a 12% concentration, we can write the following equation:

\(\frac{15\%*x + 9.6}{120 + x} = 12\%\)

\(15\%*x + 9.6 = 14.4 + 12\%*x\)

\(3\%*x = 4.8\)

\(x = 160\)

ATQ,
120*(8/100)+X*(15/100)=(12/100)*(120+X)
X = 160
