Can be in 2 lines by observing the figure.

Two right-angled triangles, with 45-45-90 (lower one) & the upper one, have 2 known sides.

Let CD is 2X, then DB = xˆ{1/2} = BC,
Therefore, DB = (3-1)ˆ{1/2} = (2)ˆ{1/2}

So CD= 2, Answer B
