New student club in a b-school

So, I checked first the web-site of my target school and than I talked to current students and I found that there is no a club currently that unites students from ex-USSR countries. The number of such students in this school is considerable. How lame would it be to communicate to the AdCom my intention to organize such a club, when admitted? Don't they hear every year from applicants "I'll be that, I'll do this..." - promises forgotten immediately after admits?

yes, they probably hear it all the time, but it's good to show your interest. My guess is that some schools would eat it up. Either way, I can't imagine it would hurt.

Thanks, aaudetat. I went as far as contacting already admitted applicants and discussing the idea of such a club with them.

You gotta stay congruent too.

If you've never done something like this in the past, the adcomm would probably just brush it off.

I believe that was one of the questions for LBS. "What type of student club or campus community event do you envisage yourself initiating? How would you set about organising this, and how would you communicate it to the wider School community? "

If you propose your vision to the Adcom, you must be able to answer the question above.

I think your idea is very good and you should not be afraid to share it. Specially, if you have a well thought out plan to make it happen.
