Sorry to hear that, Jack - i would definitely reapply after increasing the GMAT score to around 650 atleast...noticed the GMAT could be improved a bit in your case....

Quant section is apparently easier to study for than the horrid verbal

....all said done, if you really want to start MBA this Fall, I would just back-ups like Baruch or Fordham...if your firm is picking the tab you may wanna consider that....else reapply with better GMAT quant...

wishing you only the best

I've been reading this forum for sometime now... just never wrote anything.

I submitted my application a little before the deadline. I heard back on 7/11 that I was waitlisted... still waiting.

600/f/3.5/3yrs IT-finance.

I thought about retaking the GMAT again and just focusing on my weak areas... but it is pretty close to the deadline already.

I'm pretty sure I did not get in, I'm just waiting for the official word. My back-up is Baruch which I will attend in the Fall since my company will pay for a big chunk of it.

I'm interested in applying for the Spring 2008 start and was wondering how much extracurriculars factored into the acceptance process for the Part-time program.

Additionally, any ideas how I would fair? My stats are:

GMAT: 650 (Q: 40, V:40, Essay: 5.5)
Degree: Honors Bachelor in Computer Science (Canadian Univ)
Univ GPA: 2.9
Experience: 3 Years IT Management Consulting at Big 4 Firm (Focus on Financial Services Industry Clients)

Im wondering if I should re-write the GMAT and how much that would help as my Univ GPA is not my strong suit. The class profile for last year was GPA 2.9-3.8.

Has anyone gotten in with similar stats?

Thanks

Jack - sorry to hear. But if it does mean anything to you, it seems that the people who were accepted have had high GMAT scores. If I were in your shoes, I'd bust my ___ and get a higher gmat score since it seems that the higher ones were the ones accepted into the program - with the occasional score in the lower 600s.

Just a thought.

For those that were waitlisted, is there a deadline that you will hear back by either way?

^^^ Your stats, to me, show no contest - you are sure to get in! But I am guessing.

Which program did you apply to? I know weekend is far more competitive as they only have 60 seats. Weekend is my first choice and I haven't heard anything yet either and I wonder if that has anything to do with it. I indicated that I would attend the weeknight wash sq. campus too, so I'm wondering if they're considering pple's 2nd choices now as the class fills up. Good luck to you!

I have opted for weekends first and weeknights second. Hope that is the reason why I have not heard back...glimmer of hope!

sv, your stats please, if you do not mind.
I just hope NYU does not send rejection notices in bulk to all the people waiting on the last day.
