kingster: sent you a pm

scorpioguy: second navy's advice to apply in Spring. If you apply for Fall at this late stage, they'll probably get back to you kinda late: late Aug/early Sept (high stress for you), plus your app will be considered on a space-available basis. IMO same app, better chances for Spring.

Good Luck either way!

Guys - thanks for the advice. I think I will stick with Spring 2008.

If the adcomms are looking on a rolling basis (which it does not seem to be) then I would be better off sticking with the Spring 2008 round.

Congrats to those who got admitted. I am getting ready to apply for Fall 08, westchester program. I have question on the % marks to GPA conversion. How is it calculated ? If I have 80% marks, What will be my GPA ?

Thanks

I applied for fall 2007 on May 13 and I received waitlist notification this past Tuesday. 650 GMAT, 3.14 GPA for Engineering Master's from an Ivy League. When people talk about stats, how come no one ever mentions if they are HIPO? Sometimes people mention if they are already managing, but it's not the same thing. I only have 2-3 years work experience so I emphasized my HIPO classification on my app. Any HIPOers out there?

"High Potential" - it means your employer has labeled you to become a manager. Assuming you produce, your employer will move you up faster in the ranks than other people within the organization.

Axion,

I think most people applying to these programs get great letters of recommendations. So I think that pretty much makes everyone "HIPO".

I think university specifically asks for your potential and how you rank against your peers.

epb & microjohn,

Your stats please. You might have given it earlier but can you give again.

I am actually checking the web site more than doing my job. Its crazy - no matter how much I decide to pull away from it.

I did not even get a waitlist notification - so either I am IN or NOT.

sucks!

I think we all like to think we are HIPO. That is not something one can designate to ourselves. I'm sure a recommendation from your immediate supervisor will make that aspect of who you are pretty clear. For they are pretty specific as to what they want to know about you in the rec. form. I applied in early May, dont have a stellar GMAT, 4 years of work experience, 3.2 undgrad, 3.7 grad. I'm hoping they see me as a HIPO and take that into account. But then again.. I havent heard back anything yet at this point. So who knows. Hang in there. and good luck

Sorry, CPG = Consumer Packaged Goods

Not that it's going to stop me from incessantly checking today, but I wonder if the Tues/Wed/Friday rule has changed?
