No, such questions are not there on the gmat

You can expect such questions, given they are easy and are related to weighted sum/average.

If by expectation, you mean "average" or "mean" , then yes , such questions are there on the GMAT.

If by expectation, you mean, the expected value of a set of values and their associated probabilities, then NO, such questions are not there on the GMAT.

There was 1 question, related to exp. on my GMAT: 2 random variables, each has its own distribution (discrete). The question was: is variation in the first higher than variation in the second? To select a correct answer one needs just to look at the histogramm of its distribution and compare their variations. I didn't any calculations there.

Yes, I mean 2-nd. You say that no such questions. However, I've found one in a prep. book :roll:

Stick to the content of the OG. if its not in the OG , its not on the GMAT.

of course, you may get difficult probability or tough combinations, but still those are part of the OG content. We are expected to have reasonable expertise in the content that is included in the OG.

We have recently started classfying problems based on difficulty level and relevance to the GMAT. you can go over those if you are short of problems to practice.
