I dont think you need to stop thinking about the essays. Yes, it is a major pain when you are trying to relax or spend time with your family, but atleast I seem to come up with good(read less horrible) ideas for my essays when I am not sitting in front of the computer.

So, dont try to block out a train of thought. In any case, I dont think there is any way to stop freaking out. The only cure is to get an admit and all of us are atleast a couple of months from that solution.

I think you need to realize that most things will work themselves out. If you write great essays and end up in the business school of your dreams, great. If not, you are not any less of a man/woman and if you are dedicated you will do whatever you want. So just relax and you will write better essays anyway. Later....

20 bucks says you will be eating your own words in one month. You have no idea what you are stepping into.

I don't know if I'm at the freaking out level yet, but I am definetly obsessed with the essays right now. My friends and family are all sick of hearing about what my career goals are and how do I fit in with school "x."

I'll really start freaking out when I actually submit he applications.

Yeah. It was bad enough when I was telling my colleagues "What am I passionate about". But yesterday I started telling my wife's friend and her father about my passions and career goals too

I don't think people are going to visit our house till Jan / Feb.

Hope your wife doesn't get offended when she isn't at the top of your what am I passionate about list. Mine saw an outline I had with passions and was giving me a hard time about it. Nothing like being teased over this stuff. One of the guys I work with has taken to calling me Mr. 740 around another guy who took the GMAT 3 times never broke 650 and quit on the idea of going back to school.

wow... I'm facing the problem where all my friends and significant other are saying that I will get into the schools I apply to for sure, that I'm "overqualified" and etc... I'm just wondering if:

A. Maybe I can't evaluate myself objectively enough and am underestimating my chances?

or

B. My friends really don't know enough about the MBA Application process and are just saying that out of ignorance

I'm leaning towards "B" even though I wish it were "A". :P They're talking about having a "Told You So" party for me when I get accepted next year... haha, I wish...

I'll only believe it when I get the acceptance letter in my hand... or when someone like rhyme tells me I have a good chance...

Honey, they think that talking about family is immature. So I'll have to force myself to talk about something that I like after you.

kryzak, yeah .. I also have that problem with friends. And I know that it's "B" in my case :(

I've been getting this too, even from my boss. I don't think that they fathom the level of competition.
