Alright, alright, so it's not what I was getting during my practise sessions, but I'm happy. My final scores were as follows:
50Q - 95th %
41V - 93th %
Overall - 750, 98th %
To make a long point short, execution is key. And this is something I didn't do. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten a 770-790, but I'm happy with the score and it's time to move onto other parts of my B-school app.
Night before: Went out for Halloween, drank from 10pm to 7am (20-25 drinks), slept from 7am to 10am, drove for 3 hours and arrived at the testing center 10 minutes before hand. Hung over as ****, tired as ****, and brain wasn't working. Mug shot looked like I was a homeless guy hah. I did however have a good time the night before (ha ha). Anyways, long story short, I couldn't think at all (I kept staring into space), ended up **** my pants (diarrhea from night before, I took a break and as I was taking a leak, I thought, hrmmmmm better check if I have to take a dump, so you know, I see if I had to go and apparently I did so yeah that took an extra few minutes to clean up). Anyways I lost about 8 minutes on verbal, and then I fell asleep during verbal too, the exam administrator woke me up (I think I was asleep for 5 mins). But yeah I lost about 15 mins on verbal, so I rushed towards the end...... hence a 41V and not 45V+, oh well. Oh and also during the post essay break, I was outside smoking and talking to a homeless guy, and chatting with him. The guy asked if he could call my mother, then called his mother and tried to steal my **** phone. So yeah **** my pants, homeless guy tried to steal my phone, fell asleep during verbal. I also swore a lot and pretended to punch the screen during my exam, so GMAC is going to get a laugh at viewing my footage.
That was absolutely brutal. I was debating cancelling my scores, but then I thought why not, and boom, 750, 50Q / 41V. Not bad for a first try, and really, if I wrote it again, I'd get perhaps a 780, or perhaps lower.... but what's the point-- I'd rather invest the $250 elsewhere, say booze.
My essays were good though. I was still drunk when I started writing it, I think I used one of my grandpas quotes ("First you get the paper, then you get the money (and women).") haha
Ok so again, I think if I executed flawlessly, I could have gotten a 780/790, maybe 800. The questions were indeed tough. The problem with prep is you start to see repeats and you don't simulate the test conditions properly as you don't think as "hard" as you would if you were to get brand new questions everytime.
I didn't see a single repeat the entire time. Math was weird. I thought I surely would have gotten a 51Q, but I got some easy questions and by no means of exageration, I was tired as hell; the last place I wanted to be was the GMAT, but I was tired of studying for it and wanted to get it over with.
I'm pretty sure I got most (if not all) SC's correct (do those SC1000 questions, trust me, you will see some HARD SC's on the GMAT), but the CR is what killed me (ironically enough). I couldn't think straight and that was the problem.
Anyways, wrote it, and that's that.
Oh I also submitted my scores to INSEAD, Berkeley, Stanford, MIT and McGill. I didn't submit any applications, but hey, I bet too many people don't do that so maybe they'll email me and ask wtf is up.
Best of luck to you all. Remember the GMAT isn't the end of the world, and just reeeeeelax (not as much as I did though the night before hah)
