I found one broken redirect and fixed it. Are the problems coming still? We will surely correct these errors, it just takes time. Thanks for your patience.

Hi toDoorNot, thanks! There is no thread yet, but I think the Support forum (5) is a good place to discuss these things without interrupting valuable discussions in other forums.

Tino,

There is really not much fun in multiple logins to reach the forums. Is there any way to solve it? To use the previous login algorithm? :)

I am not sure if anyone is facing the same problem, but i sometimes need to log in multiple times to get to the forum. Inspite of logging in once in the same browser session, it asks me to log in over n over again. Also, the re-direction sometimes gives a page not found error aftre log in.
I think there cud be some problem with the auth cookie. I never faced this issue with the earlier version.

It's not as simple as switching back, but by all means I want to solve that. Could you tell me a few things please, that would be of great help! Which browser/OS do you have? How often does it log you out? Does it happen consistently (going through certain steps always results in logouts)? If so, which are the steps? Thanks.

Windows XP SP2, IE 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2

1st step - https://www.gmatclub.com/forum/103;
2nd step - login page - enter my name and password, click on "Log me on automatically";
3rd step - !again! login page - enter my name and password, click on "Log me on automatically";
Finally the forum opens. When I close the browser, everything is repeated. Probably, smth's cookies-related?

As for Windows Mobile 5.0, it seems to work fine.

Thank you! Yes, it looks very much like cookies. I do not have access to Windows today so I will only be able to check during the week. Can you please try to repeat the same procedure without the www prefix? Just log out, then go to:

103

Is it the same?

Thanks a lot.

Did the link to the list of schools disappear of the front page or is just me.

It did - we are reorganizing the site a bit and got confused. Actually the mods are welcome to edit both the Main_Page and the menus (https://gmatclub.com/wiki/MediaWiki:Sidebar). If we disagree, we'll notice and revert.

Never knew how to edit the side bar...do you know how to edit the boxes within the school. I was going to add people admitted to the schools, instead of just having who applied.

Re: Ask GMAT Club: New Interface and Features [#permalink]
Sorry. I do plan to explain this in more detail on the Wiki itself.

All school pages use the School templates. In the wiki

Code:
{{Blah}}

Is a call to template Blah, which gets replaced by what the page Template:Blah contains. It can also have parameters:

Code:
{{Blah|1|2|parameter 3|a long parameter 4}}

The school pages, you might notice, start with {{School| ...}

So they use Template:School. Editing this page will change all Schools pages.

However, writing up Templates is a big mess. You may notice that the Template:School code is a weird mix of Mediawiki syntax, HTML, Semantic Queries, and GMAT Club extensions {{#x:****}}.

Do not worry if it does not make sense. It may be more cost-effective to train only one person to understand all that, so feel free to contact me when you need to change templates.

FYI, the schools pages show Admitted to: for some time already, since Dec 28.

Ahh, wow... I was hoping to be the maintainer for Stanford/Haas/UCLA wikis, but that template modification thing you just went through went right over my head :?

Also, I can never figure out how to get to each school's wikis from the GMATClub home page itself... there doesn't seem to be any links...

Why not to move the advertisement after the first post to the upper part of the page? It looks inappropriate when included into discussions...

The nicknames on posts in threads are two small. Or is it just that I overruled Mozilla standard setting?
