I may retake it - thinking about it, not 100% yet.

BTW what were your weak areas in Quant ?

In Quant I am spending more time on DS. That definitely looks like something I need to practice.
I have done engineering maths for 4 years so I believe my Math skills are good...but I do LOT of silly mistakes. However, I am sure thats true for most of the folks out there. Math seems easy but its easy to mess up also.

Cant afford loosing points in Maths though as I am weak in Verbal. RC/CR kills me. Last 2 weeks I just did CR and it has helped my RC score too. Now its SC that screwing me. Thought I was better at that than CR/RC. But I believe I really had bad SCs in this exam. Nevertheless I need to start on SC soon.

I did study couple of months early last year and had to abandon my prep. started last month, after almost an year, and have not touched maths at all...working on CR mostly.

Lets see how it improves. Will give another test this week.

Sounds good ... I think SC is my biggest weak point too :)

I got 12 wrong on gmatprep Q and got a 50. Trying to figure out what it's doing is meaningless. Just get as many correct as possible.

Yeah, as I said, its nothing to do with how many you get wrong, but the difficulty of the questions that you actually attempt. A complex probability or modulus problem wrong will always hold more value then a simple algebra problem correctly done.

Actually that makes me feel better. I agree it depends on difficulty level. In my attempt out of 10 I got wrong, 7 were silly mistakes on easy/moderately difficult problems. Would not say any one of them was a terror.

My exp has been different. I got ( you won't believe) 51,51 (790) in GMATPrep(there were many repeat Qs, that is why) ..but my actual exam I got 49,33(680). My humble opinion is: Try and focus on where and why you are going wrong(and right) and be consistent in your prep..don't worry/elate too much on GMATPrep/other scores.

With so many question wrong, not sure how I could get 700. Does that make sense?
Anybody with more experience on the GMATPrep.

I thought quant went well and dint expect these many to get wrong. Did 6 silly mistakes which I could avoid with practice.

Verbal was terror. 3 bad RCs. Tons of brutal SCs. CRs were average.
Was expecting SC to lift me up but did horrible in SCs ( 8 wrong).

I have exam on 1st May so, now I need to plan and practice quant and do lot of work on verbal.

Not still convinced this is a valid score.

Unfortunately I messed up with GMAT Prep and lost the test answers so cant review the wrong answers again or post them here on GMATClub.

Yeah this can happen if you do the gmatprep over and over again. I just did gmatpreps once. Hence I got a rather accurate indicator. Similar to kyatin I believe.

Re: GMATPrep1 - 700 ; GMATPrep1 (repeat) 720 (Q 49 V 39) [#permalink]
Did today repeat on GMATPrep1.

GMATPrep1 (repeat) - 720 (Q 49 V 39) Q 13 wrong (9DS + 4PS) V 11 wrong (3CR, 4 each on RC and SC)

My first GMATPrep1 - 700 (Q 48 V 37) Q 10 wrong - V - 14 wrong

Did better than last time. But dont still feel solid. Not sure exam day I can do same. Have less than 2 weeks.

Quant
Did pathetic on DS.
Is there a hard DS problem compilation that anyone is aware of?
Need some practice as DS also consumes lot of time for me and could get me in panic mode on real exam.

Verbal
I think LSAT CRs have been helping me lot. They are just GOOD in making you concentrate better. Use Walker's timer and do few rounds, you will help yourself bug time.
I at least finished Verbal in time.

Did have 2 RCs repeat and 3 other questions CR+SC repeat. Maths perhaps had 2-3 repeat. So excluding RC not too many repeats.

Still not feeling like doing AWA. But do need to soon start doing them.

Any advice on how I can best utilize last 10 days is most appreciated.

Hey dude to bump up ur gmat score you need to do better at verbal. But it seems that 4 wrong on RC are a bit too many. Perhaps try some different tactics on RC and see if you can improve your hit rate there.

Did you notice how 37 + 14 = 51 and how 39 + 11 = 50.

To add to this, I took the Gmat prep recently on scored 41 on V whilst getting 9 wrong ( 41 + 9 = 50) Notice the trend ? Has any one else experienced this ?

Thanks for your advice. Yes I need to cross 40 barrier in verbal.
I still dont feel solid on Quant , thanks to DS.
But do you think I should stop spending too much time on quant? Because if its about getting at least *some* tough question right, then I think I am ok.

Lets see. I am gonna gocus next few days on RC and CR.

One more observation i have..... my first test I got 8 SC wrong while 4 on second. My score that way dint change a WHOLE lot.
Looks like RC/CR has more weightage. So although one can improve SC more than others, the ROI is not proportional. Just wild thought though. Not sure its true.
