Hi All!

I've been studying for the GMAT for about a month and a half now. I have studied using the Manhattan GMAT books and the OG book. Recently, I took a couple of practice tests from the Kaplan CD and got scores around 600. I also took a practice test from Manhattan GMAT and scored in the range of 690. I've heard the Kaplan tests are a little harder than the real ones. However, I thought I might ask the club here. I feel as though I am ready for the test, but I'm not sure considering the low Kaplan test scores. Is the Manhattan GMAT test more indicative of what I will score or are the Kaplan tests? Anyone have an opionion?

I would place much more emphasis on performance on ETS questions than on any of the non-ETS questions.

The key to knowing whether you are ready comes down to your comfort level with the material- solving problems should feel relaxed and virtually automatic (but not too relaxed).

cool.... yeah, i feel pretty comfortable with most questions I've done from the OG.... I'm taking the Power Prep practice test today so that should be another indicator....

Agreed on the Powerprep tests...they're the most accurate. Be forewarned, though, that you'll see several questions you've already seen, because the OG and PP share questions. I wish ETS wouldn't do that but I guess they don't have enough questions for each independently.

Another thing you could do is take the Princeton Review tests. They're a close second to the PP tests and should give you a pretty good idea within 30 points or so.

I just took the Power Prep test and got a 710. I hope this is a good measure of my ability.

That is probably a pretty good measure of your current skill level as long as you have not practiced with the same questions before.
