Re: SC Food resource [#permalink]
I'll go with A

D & E - out, they are not followed by "that"

"suffering from" - correct Idiom,
B - not parallel >> suffering ---- resulting?
C - not parallel >> suffering ---- resulting?

Whats the OA?

A) Creatures were not "suffering from dwindling food supplies", they were "suffering because food supplies were dwindling". The latter portion ("resulting from increasing") is also incorrect.
B) Correct
C) Implies that creatures of the sea were suffering "because of" the food supplies, which is clearly wrong
D) Missing "that" before "creatures". The creatures were not suffering "from food supplies that were dwindling".
E) Missing "that" before "creatures"

EDIT: Earlier answer (A) was incorrect. It should be (B). Idiom was a lower priority. "Suffering from dwindling supplies" sounds incorrect.

OA is B.

Only A and B gives the proper meaning that X was suffering because of dwilding food supply.

Now between A and B:

A: uses "resulting from" --> Unidiomatic. "Resulting in" is the correct idiom
B: "as a result of" --> correct IDIOM

Resulting from is a right idiom. Here, problem is if we use resuling from, then meaning of the whole sentence sounds weird. Try it.

Re: SC Food resource [#permalink]
B sounds right except that it should be "possibly a result of" and not possibly as a result of". This is incorrect in my opinion. I would therefore have to go with A. Otherwise, my pick would have been B.
