Re-Taken GMAT after Admitted/Enrolled ??

I guess IB recruiters commonly require to see your GMAT scores? What are they looking for? High Quant, score in 700s, etc?

Score in the 700s - but I don't believe a low score is a deterrent for selection and quite obviously the higher the quant score the better.

From my outside viewpoint, I think it would be fairly useless, for instance for a major investment bank to ask a 2nd year Wharton finance grad with awesome grades, etc.... for a GMAT score that might have been taken years ago.. and is less relevant to the fianance coursework performance...

But I guess competition is fierce and any little difference can mean a lot....

wouldn't IBD care just as much about your Verbal skills as well?

I am not sure they care too much about how well you can talk to the Excel spreadsheets you will be working on 15 hrs a day......

For a top IB or MC firm you need a 700+. Most schools tell you to put it on your resume, but not the breakdown. So don't worry about the breakdown as much, if at all. If you get accepted w/o a 700+, take it again. It will really help your chances. I know you'd rather put that test to bed, but think about this way: if you don't have a 700+, the resume under yours might, and you are just giving that person a leg up on you. You spend another $250 or more, crack 700, get closer to your dream job, and it is all worth it. Bschool entails a lot of sacrifices, but it is about the big picture, right? If you give yourself every advantage you possibly can, you will come out of school having achieved the goals that you set out to conquer. And if you're not giving yourself every advantage, I can guarantee that someone at your school or another certainly is.
