Hi Everyone,
I took the GMAT for the first time on Saturday was very disappointed. My goal was a minimum of 650 and I finished with a 610 Q42/V32. I had taken both PP tests on two previous Saturdays and had done all the 800Score Quantitative tests. I did not fall behind on the Quantitative questions, but obviously I made too many mistakes. DS is a problem and I waste time on some of the problem solving questions by not knowing the shortcuts. The verbal section really threw me. On the PP tests I would always finish with a few minutes to spare and scored in the 90th and 87th percentile. During the exam I fell behind on the verbal and had to do the last 15 questions with 15 minutes left. The RC was far more difficult then I had expected. I had not studied RC very much as I am a native speaker and enjoy reading articles from the Economist and New Yorker.
PP1 660 Q41 V40
PP2 640 Q39 V38
I want to take the test again in a month and will be far more aggressive on the verbal but I have weaknesses in all areas. I realize I need to study my Quantitative errors more carefully and am going to use the
error log sheet.
I found this site on Sunday, it has boosted my sprits already, but I need to improve in all areas to pull off a good score next month.
Thanks for all the inspirational stories here
