I think thats a natural response from "folks like us" :) If you are on this forum trying to get the best score possible, its likely that you arent shooting for some 4th tier nobody school and are a fairly driven person. Most of my life has been focused on measuring my aptitude- be it through test scores or grades or degrees or success on consulting projects. Its only natural to feel depressed if you believe you havent lived up to your potential, which is what (you believe) the score is saying.

We all stumble sometimes (and I had a BIG stumble yesterday in a job interview)- accept that it happens and if it does happen on the GMAT for you- youll absorb the loss, accept that youve learned some things about yourself and the test experience, and move on to take the test again with your new knowledge. In the meantime, instead of visualizing yourself depressed and receiving a low score, how about changing the thinking and visualizing yourself being calm through the test, working the problems in a strong manner, and receiving a good score? The power of the mind can be an incredible thing!

ok...
2 days and it is the big day and i am a bit depressed... Took the 6 CAT MGMAT tests and got ~650 almost every single time... Quant score average about 46-48 while verbal is more like 30-33. Not sure what i can do the last 2 days to really push my verbal besides going back to basics i guess. It is especially frustrating that many verbal wrongs occurred when i got it down to 2 choices :(. Any last minute help/suggestions?

am taking the exam on FEB 15th ( it was 11th and then I postponed to make use of the weekend) .

And am in same stage as you .. Q 43-46 and V 29 , 33, 33 in MGMAT CATs...

- Hope Quant formulae are in your finger tips.Even then refresh number properties

- Spend the last before day in Verbal
- SC - if weak in SC concentrate on MGMAT SC
- RC - we cannot do last minute magic..just formuate your approach..this is what i am gonna do and this is how
am gonna approach..dont waste precious time in identifying any new approach
- CR - Practice some 10 - 20 OG problem..Refresh the basic..differnt type of questions ..how to eliminate etc

Last day..be cool ..take your time..boost your confidence that you are doing to do well

and we very well know that you can do it !!!!
Good Luck

Note : am not an expert , but the above will help me in couple of days :)

Re: 1 week left... suggestions on what to do? [#permalink]
thanks!

One thing i find from the MGMAT cats is they seem to have a lot more geometry problems like "is this a XYZ" - makes me want to brush up on geometry again heh. But yeah you are right about verbal - RC i cant brush up anymore and from my logging it is more of the topic than actual question types... I am gonna stop doing the tests now and just go over the SC/RC/Geometry guides instead.
