Thank you for congratulations, I think some of us are now spending a happy weekend full of satisfaction, pleasant plans, and champagne of course
I got an invitation for the interview approximately 4 weeks after the submission of my application. About 2 weeks before I got my schedule and the case for analysis. At the interview day there were 4 more applicants from different countries (some of them are also at this forum: Hello, guys!
).
For me the most valuable result of the interview day was the "feeling" of the school to understand whether it fits me on an emotional level. The day is very well organized: you have an opportunity to talk to the faculty, current students, other applicants, attend 1 class and we were lucky to attend a group work session. This all completed the picture that was formed when I did my "desk research".
All the stages of the interview day were quite natural, there were no particular surprises: knowing your motivations and application info was enough to feel comfortable at the interview session; the impromptu presentation was a standard but very short business case, it was quite clear and though 30 min. of preparation is not much it's enough to outline the main ideas and recommendations (the only thing that I hadn't expected is that you do the presentation in front of all the other applicants, so basically everyone talks one after another in a row about the same thing); the case discussion was not really competitive (these were my fears before the interview), it was rather a common search for the solutions with the other applicants and the adcom members who moderated the discussion actively.
After the interview day I felt that the most important and difficult work during the application process I actually did before the interview day: worked out the logic of my motivations, outlined what I actually wanted and expected from mba and imd in particular, prepared the case analysis, and all the other things that are described on the web by many former applicants of previous years. During the day I was just being myself, which helped me to behave naturally and be more self-confident.
Don't know what to add as there's a lot of information about the interview day structure at this and other forums which appeared to be true for my interview day as well, but if you have some specific question I'll be happy to answer it.
Good luck with your application! Now I know that everything is possible
