Silasaaa2,

I think you DO stand a chance, but you might consider taking a new GMAT, because you are competing with many Indian IT guys... But it may be the case that you do not need a higher GMAT if you can show how unique you are.

A stellar GMAT is not a must, being interesting IS - show your personality!

Congrats!
I have a question about the Eiffel Scholarship.
Do you apply for it through the HEC portal? Is it available to dual citizens (as in French + other)?
Thanks!

Hi, Frogger! :)

I'm no authority on this subject, but you may have difficulty for this scholarship due to the eligibility criteria. Applicants must:

1. Be aged 30 years old or less in the selection year.
2. Have a single nationality from a developing country deemed an "emerging country" by the French state department, especially those in Asia and Latin America, for example, currently under-represented among the student population in France.

The scholarship is sponsored by the French government (French ministry of Foreign Affairs), but I think that you apply through HEC. In other words, HEC acts as a filter or middleman in the process. That was my impression, at least.

I'm sure that you have already seen this, but here is a brief description of it just in case. If you still have any questions, contact the HEC admissions department.

Thanks bmilan (italian?)

Then I do not qualify for this scholarship on both fronts (age and citizenship)
Actually, I just realized I was looking for the HEC- Ile-de-France Master's Scholarship (I don't know why the Eiffel scholarship name came to mind). I have dual French-Canadian citizenship but it is not available on my portal. It must be because I was born in France?
The L'Oreal essay is killing me! No motivation to write it (except for the money). I guess I am burned out on the essay front, and I only applied to 2 schools. I can't imagine people who apply to 5-6 schools....

hi prasetogosho

for applying a loan to BNP, you need either a french guarantee(french citizen living in france, citizen living abroad but property in france) or a guarantee from a local bank(bank in your country). the interest rate is 3.2% but getting a guarantee from a local bank seems to be a really difficult step. for eg in india only very few nationalised banks give this kind of guarantee and most insist you should have an account with them which is more than 6 months old.

The Jan intake is much much smaller than September. Think ~60 students vs. ~160 in September. It's not like INSEAD's setup. Also, the Jan intake has a slightly different calendar. They go through all the same phases but the way it falls on the calendar, their internship time is about the same time they would start a new job. There are other differences as well I believe but I didn't do a good job of researching them.

Usually just a few days after your scholarship essays deadline.

Glad to have you with us, foncia! I'm sure there will be some type of GMATClub gathering at HEC. It seems that we have a fairly international group here.
