Re: Help me out please [#permalink]
The usefulness of the average GMAT while applying to any business school is questionable, to say the least. Additionaly, averages are skewed by impact of outliers on the distribution. For example, if the middle 80 % range for your selected school is between 580 and 720, but the AVERAGE is 650. What should be an eye catching score given this distribution ?
In order to be in the top quartile of this distribution (580 -720, as middle 80% range) you'll need score around 720 to be competitive for scholarships and assistantships. Short answer : Look to score way above average, around the upper boundary of the middle 80% distribution to be considered really hot.

Hope this helps
Have fun with the GMAT and good luck !
