What happened to my profile page? :(

Complains! :(

1. I hit update profile by mistake and it NUKED all my details, and I could NOT get it back!
2. I am from IIT, and ALL US universities recognize our grading system (out of 10) and recommend NOT to convert it to 4 scale level as they know what it means. This is ridiculous - I have to convert my GPA for this site - this is depressing.
3. The profile page doesn't even display all the info it used to. There was an interest section in old profile page, it's GONE. Seems like many other things are gone.

These kind of changes should be "revertable" AND "optional". At-least a migration path. Sad, to be honest!

Sorry about that - it did not seem like anyone was using those really - we can definitely consider getting those fields back. What specifically would you like to have on your profile that is currently not avialable?

Why is it depressing? Is that hard to convert? You are welcome not to submit the GPA info but there is a reason we do this - we need to be able to compare apples to apples and help other candidates understand how they rank with you. If you provide a GPA of 9.50, most other folks will no clue what that is.

There is one Free Form field that you can type anything for the "category" and free form for the content. You can make them "Interests:" and "your interests here". Can you use this one or any reason it does not work? What specifically you feel is missing?

Thanks BB for responding. You are right about GPA conversion for comparison. Anyways, doesn't matter as much, it's just that there is no defined tool to convert exactly.

I think the new profile is much better in terms of comparison. I also really don't see why the inability to display one aspect of your profile is depressing or ridiculous. This is not a business school application you're filling out. It's merely for comparison purposes to see where you rank amongst others. Worst case, you can always leave it blank :)

We all know about the IIT and what it means. No one wants to deliberately make anyone do something that is "ridiculous" - There's no reason to get upset about something trivial.

Hehe, I know. I just went to my profile and it wiped out everything, so I was like why? But it makes sense and it was worth the apology :) Thank you all for helping us get through this whole GMAT and MBA application process. I should NOT complain :)
