Hi!

I'm planning a campus visit to Oxbridge before the schools close for Christmas.
If anyone is planning something similar, do let me know. Bonus points if you're from India...:)

Also, opinions on some dos & donts / mistakes & best practices from other folks who have already walked the mile are highly welcome!
I'm wondering how much a visit (round trip to India) might approximately cost.. I'll be staying at a friend's place.

+ Attend a class
+ Speak to few students (both from your country and others). Learn about the current happenings at the school.
+ Talk to admissions team. Let the admissions team know that you are coming from India just to visit the school. They keep track of such interest from prospective students.

I'm not sure if they'll allow me to attend classes since I won't be making it on an Open Day. Typically, what will I be missing if I go on a non open day?
I shot the same question to the adcom, and I was told that they couldn't guarantee that I'd even be able to meet current students!!! :shock:

Write to the adcom that you are interested to attend a class. They will try to accommodate your request. It need not be a open day.

Every school has a coffee or a nearby pub. You can meet the current students there. You don't need to have any permission to meet them. Good luck!

Phew! Making arrangements for a campus visit isn't as cozy as I had thought! :shock: Can somebody help me out with these queries?
>> I'm looking for super quick processing of my UK visa from India. Is hiring an agent (Thomas Cook maybe?) a good idea?
>> Is travel insurance a must in the UK? How to go about eets?
>> what's the best way to carry local currency? Get myself some Thomas Cook/AMEX travelers cheques or do I purchase some GBP forex from India itself? Any other ideas?
>> Both schools (Ox/bridge) are taking time to respond to my request for campus visit. I'm guessing it's because of the peak application season. If I send them a gentle reminder to take a look at my case, will it be perceived negatively by the schools?
