For the geometry one, I drew out the figure, then figured out the angles. Then I set up the equation, sum of interior angles = (n-2)180

The continued from there.

I usually take the algebraic approach for word problems and rates

but when questions involve fractions and decimals, the calculations take a bit of time

especially percent questions where the given percentages aren’t neat like 30%/25% etc

For the geometry one, I would like to find x via BAC angel, and I can assume that it can be equal with DAE angel, because the question gives info about ABC and AED are congruent and i guess triangle ABC = AED. So I am going to check if it is true and yeah there is a element say BC = DE, so ABC = AED and sure thing BAC angel = DAE angel. I mean the thing is I can see it just a few second to see that triangle ABC = AED, so everything is solve. And I think it is good to practice without drawing it out, because it can take time.

for example, if question ask like 30% of 179

The reason I take the drawing approach is that often, even though the image looks like they are congruent, maybe the sides were probably not equal. It’s an approach to avoid future mistakes.

depend on questions, I would say some just a few second, some I have to take 3-4 minutes, I have to make sure that easy question don’t take me above 30s

so I have time on tricky ones
