"70% of schools are reporting a drop in 10% or more." Would be interesting to see which schools are in the 30%. Based on my visit to Kellogg last weekend, I definately don't think the ultra-elites are immune, but I do feel like they are not in as bad of shape as some of the other top 20's out there. I think the problem is that recruiters really have not been in a situation like this before, and don't really know how to handle it. I also know that different industries are handling things differently. For example, most of the top consulting firms are adjusting their numbers by limiting the number of full-time hires while keeping their summer internship numbers the same. I would imagine, that by the end of '09, when the class of '11 is recruiting for internships, things will still be a little bit in the air. I think (hope) that by the end of '10, things will have stabalized and firms will find themselves short staffed and begin hiring in droves again.
