Hello

Well done Yashika29 LidiiaShchichko ahabib saurabhjain296 PRASANN2019 for taking the question correct.

And amarsinha thyagi here is the OE for you.

Official Explanation

This is an Inference question, so the argument is comprised of premises only, on which basis you are asked to draw a conclusion:

Premise A: The Big-Hype marketing firm is experiencing growth.
+
Premise B: The firm instructs employees in the creative department to help employees in the administrative department.
+
Premise C: The administrative department has caught up with its work, but the firm hasn't changed this strategy even though the creative work is unsatisfactory.

(A) Incorrect

According to premises B and C, we know that creative department employees are encouraged to help those in the administrative department, and that the administrative department performs satisfactorily. If the creative department employees were incapable of helping those in the administrative department, then this would not be the case.

(B) Incorrect

This answer choice makes an illogical leap from the premises presented in the argument, assuming that unsatisfactory creative work leads to an unsuccessful business. While this assumption may be correct, it is not presented in the argument as a premise.

(C) Correct

If the Big-Hype firm continued to send the creative department employees to help the administrative department, even though the creative work was unsatisfactory, we can conclude that it focuses more on administrative than on creative work.

(D) Incorrect

There is no mention of time in the premises of the argument so we cannot make the conclusion presented by this answer choice.

(E) Incorrect

Although the statement in this answer choice might hold true for the Big-Hype marketing firm, we cannot make such a conclusion about all marketing firms, as this answer choice does.

C. E is not correct as one cannot infer that it has less satisfactory creative work. It would be a sort of extreme to think that.

D. The administrative department has more time to complete its work than the creative department has.

E. The more clients a marketing firm serves, the less satisfactory its creative work is.

A - This cannot be said as employee in creative department are actually helping admin dept.
B - This cannot be said for sure. Creative work is unsatisfactory but the company is getting clients... and business.
C - It doesn't say that the company places more focus on admin. Just because there is too many clients...and growth the extra admin work require extra hand so creative dept people are involved.
D - This could be true... Admin dept. has enough time to complete the work so with the help of creative dept, they are able to complete the work but the creative department might have tight schedule and they have in all less time to complete the work that is why the tasks are unsatisfactory.
E. - This generalized statement cannot be made about all marketing firms.

Best answer as per me is D.

I'm stuck between D and C.. I'm more inclined to C though... the second line of the argument " employees in the creative department are encouraged to help employees in the administrative department. This strategy is maintained despite the fact that administrative work is now always completed on schedule whereas the creative work is often unsatisfactory"...if the creative dept employees are encouraged to help admin dept. employees despite the fact that creative dept. work is often unsatisfactory, then it implies the firm is less concerned about the works done by creative dept. and more concerned about the works of admin dept.
D to some extent might not be true.. what if Creative dept. has more time and admin dept has less time to complete the work and admin dept work is still completed right on schedule????

It seems that a correct answer is C. if the company does not hire new employees, but transfers creative department employees instead to perform administrative tasks, despite the unsatisfactory work in creative department, this company evidently is more concern about the administrative work.

Which of the following inferences is best supported by the statement made above?

A. Employees in the creative department are incapable of helping those in the administrative department.

Opposite of what is being said

B. The Big-Hype marketing firm will soon be out of business.

Out of scope

C. The Big-Hype marketing firm places more focus on administrative work than on creative work.

Correct.

If the firm keeps people on administrative work despite creative work being unsatisfactory, then yes, we could definitely say one is seen as more important than the other (from the firm's perspective)

D. The administrative department has more time to complete its work than the creative department has.

No mention of time efficiency in the passage, this is out of scope.
What if the best performers were taken from the creative department, causing the unsatisfactory work? There could be many explanations as to why the work is unsatisfactory, therefore we cannot infer this.

E. The more clients a marketing firm serves, the less satisfactory its creative work is.

Too extreme. We have 1 case at hand and are now extrapolating a rule of thumb.. Chill

Option C

A. Employees in the creative department are incapable of helping those in the administrative department.

There is nowhere it is mentioned that creative dept employees are incapable. We can't infer this from the given information.

B. The Big-Hype marketing firm will soon be out of business.

Irrelevant. The very first statement says that the firm is experiencing rapid growth.

C. The Big-Hype marketing firm places more focus on administrative work than on creative work.

The firm is experiencing rapid growth -> Employees in the creative department are asked to help admin guys despite the fact that admin work is NOW complete on time whereas creative dept is producing the unsatisfactory work -> Company is more focused on Admin dept than Creative Dept

D. The administrative department has more time to complete its work than the creative department has.

Creative dept is helping Admin dept, therefore, we can't infer this from the given information.

E. The more clients a marketing firm serves, the less satisfactory its creative work is.

Generalized statement. It can't be true for others. Also, it looks like the reason for unsatisfactory work is creative employees helping Admin Employees. Therefore, wrong choice.

Even though the administrative work is getting completed on time the company still wants the creative department to help them this clearly shows that the company is more focused on administrative work then creative work, so the correct answer is option C
