C correct

reason and because are redundant I guess.

D. reason doesn't have a verb

'Reason' and 'because' are redundant. A, B and E are out.

Out of options C and D- 'is' is required and hence option C is correct.

(c) is that they enjoy learning about the world around them

The reason X is because Y = WRONG
The reason X is that Y = CORRECT
