LCM of 8, 9, 10

=> 8 = 2^3
=> 9 = 3^2
=> 10 = 2*5

LCM = 2^3*3^2*5= 360

The greatest 5 digit number is 99999

When 99999 is divided by 360 the remainder would be = 279

So, the greatest 5 digit number divisible by 360 = 99999-279 = 99720

To leave the remainder 3, add 3 in 99720

So the number would be 99723.

OA should be C

A number is divisible by 8 when the last 3 digits are divisible by 8
If the number ends in 0, it is divisible by 10
If the sum of the digits is divisible by 9 , so is the number

Greatest five-digit positive integer which when divided by 8, 9 and 10 leaves 3 as remainder

Subtract 3 from the answer choices and then lets check the answer choices

(A) 99,996 - 3 = 99,993
(B) 99,983 - 3 = 99,980
(C) 99,723 - 3 = 99,720
(D) 99,623 - 3 = 99,620
(E) 99,523 - 3 = 99,520

Now, above numbers should be divisible by 8, 9 , 10

(A) 99,993
NOT Divisible by 10 => ELIMINATE

(B) 99,980
Sum of digits = 9 + 9 + 9 + 8 + 0 = 35 => NOT Divisible by 9 => ELIMINATE

(C) 99,720
Last three digits = 720 => Divisible by 8
Sum of digits = 9 + 9 + 7 + 2 + 0 = 27 => Divisible by 9
Last digit = 0 => Divisible by 10
=> This is the number, we don't need to check further but I am solving to complete the solution.

(D) 99,620
Sum of digits = 9 + 9 + 6 + 2 + 0 = 26 => NOT Divisible by 9 => ELIMINATE

(E) 99,520
Sum of digits = 9 + 9 + 5 + 2 + 0 = 25 => NOT Divisible by 9 => ELIMINATE

So. Answer will be C
Hope it helps!
