After taking a Pearson review course and scoring a disappointing 650 (after routinely score 700+ on practice exams) I became discouraged. I came across EmpowerGmat on the forums and read the great reviews - i admit that at first i was largely skeptical. However, i felt that the cost was right and i liked the flexibility the course offered. After closely following the program in the month leading up to exam, I felt confident that it had taught me helpful strategic techniques. I arrived at test day with a much higher level of confidence than in the past. Upon completing the exam i saw that my score jumped 60 points, from a 650 to 710, with a 99th percentile in verbal. Empower taught me the most efficient way to attack the sentence correction sentences which had been a major weakness in the past. I highly recommend test takers to try the program - it can also be highly effective for first time test takers due to breadth of the material and lessons offered.
