Yes - school of my dreams

Consultant: Poonam Tandon

I am very thankful to Poonam as I got admitted to my dream school. I had a wonderful journey with her throughout my application process.
After I was done with my GMAT, I spent at least 100 hours reading the reviews of various admission consultant services. I finally decided to sign up for a multiple schools package with Poonam because she is an AIGAC certified consultant whereas most of the other consultants are not. Pricing is also very reasonable compared to the other consultant firms. Most importantly, her success rate is on the higher side.
Initially, we both had telephonic and skype calls to brainstorm stories for essays (goals, accomplishments , background, mistakes, setback culture shock etc.) so that we would be ready for the right content when the schools would release essay questions. She sent me a framework/outline for every single essay we worked on that helped me put together my first drafts. With each edit she sent me, the essays kept getting better and better, and I was able to submit my best essays for every school. The essays always carried the right content to the essay prompts. Her guidelines and suggestions not only helped me choose the right content but also helped me find my own voice. I was glad that she never compromised on the content to get the allowed word-limit. The sentence structure was excellent and apt to the content. She always provided better words to showcase the content of my essays. Her editing was so perfect that she never even missed a punctuation mark: comma, semicolon, and colon etc. She perfectly followed the turn-around time ( 24-48 hours) and followed the best practice by informing me about her schedule in advance .
Poonam’s kindness and her dedication to work are exemplary. For one of my schools, I was just about to submit the application when I found out that it needed one extra essay about which I didn’t know earlier. It was a shocker for me because I had only 2 days left before the deadline. At that time, Poonam was about to board a flight to go on a one week vacation as per the schedule she had already informed me weeks in advance. Even during that crunch situation, she had sent me the edited essay from the airport because of which I was able to submit the application on time. This speaks a ton about her dedication towards her work and her concern for her students.
I am very thankful to Poonam as I got admitted to my dream school. I had a wonderful journey with her throughout my application process. Apart from essay writing, I have learned many things from her such as punctuality, following the schedule, loving own work etc. I will implement these qualities in my daily life and strive to become a better person.
I recommend Poonam to everyone who is very much willingly to have a bright future and an MBA admission.

Although I had already written most of essays and was confident that they were good, I decided to sign up for a single essay review service so as to double check the quality of my work. I signed up for myEssayReview because it was highly rated at GMAT Club, and because it offered very competitive pricing for a one essay review. After completing the review process with Poonam for this essay, I realized that she helped me to elevate the quality of my essay to an entirely new level! As a result, I decided to sign up to essay review to six schools I applied as well as résumé review. Here is my feedback on my experience of working with Poonam:

Understands you as a person: Poonam was interested in understanding my whole story as an applicant and as a person, though I had initially just signed up for a one essay review. In addition, I could also understand her background and method of working, which helped us to work productively while not losing sight of my goals and characteristics. She provided me valuable advice on my school selection, application strategy, time management, and even résumé improvements, all of which were not part of the scope of my original service hired.

Delivers a Clear Sentence Structure: Poonam demonstrated that my first drafts had stories with unnatural flow, frequently lacking a clear link between the story and the point I was trying to make. Once we identified the point, then we discussed on how each part of the example was supporting the point. This method was vital not only to stay focused on my key messages but also to trim side arguments and reach the tight word limits. Poonam used an effective and elegant word choice - not overly sophisticated vocabulary. As a non-native speaker, I found it so helpful because I wouldn´t be comfortable with words that I would never write on my essays.

Effective Edits: Effective editing/trimming of essays is one of Poonam’s main strengths. I frequently sent her very large essays thinking, there is no way to achieve the allowed word-limit – but she consistently delivered on the word limit! In addition, I found helpful that she offered my choices on what contents to sacrifice or details to omit, so that I was able to consciously evaluate the trade offs and make choices that maintained the essence of my examples.

Results speak for themselves! In the end, I was interviewed to all of the six schools I applied, admitted to four of them (Kellogg, Berkeley-Haas, Yale SOM and UCLA Anderson) and waitlisted at Stanford GSB. Plus, three of them offered me substantial scholarships! Kellogg-70K scholarship (Donald Jacobs scholarship), Yale SOM - 20k scholarship , UCLA Anderson -70k scholarship. Now I’m heading to Kellogg with scholarship! I had never imagined I would be so successful. Without doubt, Poonam has contributed substantially!

Beyond being admitted to my dream school with scholarship, I gained a lot from working with Poonam. I improved my writing and critical thinking abilities, and also had a great time working with Poonam. Thank you Poonam for your guidance.

I got accepted into USC's Leventhal MAcc program. I believe my essay played a significant role in getting my foot in the door.

GMATclub has been one of the major sources that I used to prepare for the GMAT. Since GMATclub seemed credible to me, I decided to rely on their ratings and reviews for myEssayReview.

Once I paid for my essay review package, I was given a 1-hour skype session where Poonam would go over my essay and ask questions. This session allowed her to get to know me. She also suggested what to include and not to include in the essay in terms of content.

From what I saw and experienced, Poonam knows how to create a compelling story. She knows how to arrange the details in my draft in a way that would enliven the story and flow nicely.

The grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure are all covered. She would find the best alternative to cut down excessive words to meet the page limit or word count while still maintaining the story's essence.

Overall, I would recommend anyone applying for a grad school check her out at http://myessayreview.com/
The price is reasonable and the turnaround time is 48 hours (she expects you to do the same).
She also tries to answer all your inquiries to the best of her abilities through email.

I decided to sign up with myessayreview after reading the great reviews on gmatclub. I needed someone to work with me on an aggressive schedule (I needed 6 essays in about 2weeks) and shape my stories. I setup a quick chat to understand how she worked and was impressed with her diligence and attention to detail. She took the time to understand my profile and the programs I was applying to. She also did not overcommit to work on all 6 essays and emphasized on providing the time needed for each essay and my commitment on the turnaround. Given the timeline I decided to take up the 3essay package.

Poonam had reviewed my resume and essays before the 1hr Skype call and we had a great discussion on my profile and what aspects of the applications needed to be highlighted. We setup a framework for the essays and setup a timeline for the draft reviews. Although I wasn't signed up for a resume review, Poonam provided some valuable edits to it as well.

Poonam helped me work on the structure and the messaging in each of the essays and had valuable inputs on them. I was also impressed with her turnaround time with her feedback. Her language skill are exemplary and she managed to magically fit every essay exactly into the word limit without compromising any content or impact. I was thrilled with how the final versions of the essays turned out and was happy I chose to work with her. I would recommend Poonam to anyone looking to get the best versions of their applications out there..

I first signed up only for Poonam’s resume review, but after working with her on my resume, I knew I could trust her with working on my three essays. I liked how I could choose individual services, and the pricing was very reasonable and the plans were flexible. I read all the others’ testimonials
and their experiences working with Poonam, and I got a good feeling that I could make a convincing essay that told my story well. With a low GMAT score, I knew I had to give my application an edge.

Poonam greatly cared about me as a person and an applicant, and was able to extract the points that were effective in my essays. At times when my content was insufficient, she pushed me to think harder in my past and get the material out on text. It was precisely this kind of help that made my
essays have a differentiating factor and a coherent story. Not only did her advice make the writing better, it also crystalized what I wanted to convey in the first place.

In addition to understanding me and my strengths, Poonam nicely picked up points in my story that I didn't think were so significant. She arranged them and crafted them elegantly without losing my original intent. I was truly satisfied with the final essays.

Although the deadlines for the schools that I was applying to were approaching fast, Poonam’s response time was SUPER fast and never late - I don’t know how she does it, but it was truly magical and assuring to have feedback on time when I was racing against the clock.

My overall experience of working with Poonam was GOLD STAR EXCELLENT. After her consultation and essay reviews, I got accepted from Aalto University with 100% full tuition scholarship, Illinois Institute of Technology with $45K scholarship, and also Central St. Martins. I chose to attend Aalto
University. I would definitely recommend her services to anybody who needs and wants a consultant who puts in the time and care into your applications.

Hi,

I would like to share my experience of working with Poonam Tandon (My Essay Review) as a part of my admission process. After I gave my GMAT, I opted for the 1 hour free consultation with Poonam. I was surprised to see how much knowledge I gained during my interaction with her during that one hour. She was very thorough explaining the admission process, my chances of getting into various schools after evaluating my profile and in-depth discussion on the essays, LOR and resume.
I decided to choose the Essay Review for 2 essays for Oxford Said. The payment was pretty simple and I did through the website. She informed me promptly that she received the payment. She had already mentioned to me during the 1 hour consultation that she needs a draft version of my essays before she can start working on them. After I gave her a few options on the essay topics, she helped me to finalize a couple. So, I basically wrote two versions for each essay and she was kind enough to review them and gave me a feedback on which version works better. In her first review, she had indicated which portions of the essays need modifications. I made the changes accordingly and we were done after her second review. The whole process took less than 2 weeks. She had been extremely professional and every time I submitted a response I heard back from her in less than 3 days. She never wrote my essays, but she empowered me to right better. I strongly recommend her.

I gave my GMAT in end June 2017 and started the application process in early July. The next step was choosing an admissions consultant and this was not an easy process. I talked to some 5-6 consultants and was really disheartened when they didn't believe in my passion and dream of getting into HBS. They asked me to apply to more "safe" schools. When I had an introductory talk with Poonam, she sounded really encouraging and yet practical. And I knew that I found my companion for this journey.

The next few months were not easy and I worked extremely hard to achieve my aim. At all times, Poonam worked equally hard right from reviewing my essays in time and putting extra time and effort whenever I got demanding.

I was keen on applying to HBS in Round 1 but Poonam suggested me to keep HBS for round 2 and give enough time to my dream school. Now when I look back, I feel that this was most valuable advice she gave me. It gave me enough time to work on my essays and be confident about my application.

Poonam's USP is that she is a convincing story teller and with her, I learnt this art. Not only this, but also she gave me valuable advice for all parts of my application process, such as bringing more clarity on my goals, getting my recommendations inline with my qualities, identifying my failures etc.

I will strongly recommend MER to all those who are struggling to find an encouraging consultant and are really passionate about their dream school!

Following Poonam’s suggestion, I also signed up for résumé package later. She also acceded to my request of creating customized package for LORS for various schools, and I am indeed grateful for her generosity. I worked with her on 9 schools - Cornell, Booth, Darden, UNC, McCombs, Kelley, Yale, Tuck, and Duke, and found her guidelines/suggestions extremely comprehensive and precise. Her feedback on content, structure, and flow was excellent. Often she edited my essays and reduced the word count and in my next draft, I would again increase it by 200 words, making her job harder. However, she never complained and again pruned it to the allowed word limit.

I would strongly recommend Poonam as one of the best Admission consultants.

I cannot say more/enough of good things Poonam did to my application process. She absolutely was the brilliant person to have by my side throughout the entire daunting application process as easy as it could possibly be! When I applied, I felt like I did my best and had an application that was significantly stronger/better than it would otherwise have been without Poonam.

In July 2017, I had free consultation with Poonam and intuitively understood that she was the right consultant who would take my challenge as personal and thus I decided to work with her. From that moment I started working with Poonam, and she was there to answer my questions and guide me through the process. I signed up for 3 essay package with MER (myEssayReview). I was so impressed with her thorough, precise, and valuable suggestions and recommendations and editing that I decided to continue working with her and requested her to upgrade me to 14 essays package for 6 other universities. Though she doesn’t have more than 6 essay package on her website, she created a customized 14 essays discounted package for me.

Poonam has an uncanny ability to feel like your friend while providing directions at the same time. Before I started the process, my biggest concern was my age (I was 38 years old at the time of matriculation) and was keen to get into business school this year. I was obviously under tremendous stress. Though I had signed up for essay package, not school package, I often asked her questions about my school choices and chances of admission that was not part of the package. But she always gave me an honest advice on the schools I had better chances at.
Throughout the brainstorming process, Poonam was easy to speak to and guided me to think about what I wanted the admissions committee to know about me and how I could make that into a great story. Additionally, I never felt like Poonam was “telling” me what I had to write about. Rather, Poonam helped me to see some critical gaps in my stories I was sharing with her, fill those gaps and craft those into thoughtful essays.

When I was writing my essays, Poonam’s feedback always pushed me to give that one extra detail that I believe showcased more about who I am and made me a stronger applicant. Poonam would ask questions like “Can you think of another 2 examples when you did X?” or “Don’t you think this would have been a perfect beginning for XXXX essay?” or “Tell me more about Y. Why did you do it? How?” Her comments were thoughtful but also encouraged me to be more self-aware about the candidate that I was presenting to the admissions committees.

Poonam, it was a great journey of knowledge that you have shared with me. I have learnt a tremendous amount of techniques starting from how to write different parts and types of the essays, how to outline, and how to draft different types of essays. I am deeply grateful for your assistance in many ways - from giving free advices regarding my school choices, editing my essays. You did ABSOLUTELY great and amazing job. You are truly a unique person with vast experience in MBA application process. I wish I could meet you earlier so that I could have had enough time for more thorough process of analyzing MBA programs. And thank you for being patient and listening to my concerns over my application to all my MBA programs. You definitely have met many people in your life and I would say that you are psychologist knowing what the candidate is all about. That’s why I trusted you and shared with you all my concerns.
I would say without hesitation that Poonam would make huge impact on my professional development in future. She has made my dream of getting my MBA degree from top business school realistic now. Results of her work speak for themselves.

Above all, Poonam was my biggest support throughout the process. I applied to nine schools (admitted to 1, waitlisted at 2) I did not sign up for interview prep service, but when I started to prepare for interviews, Poonam gave me honest, candid advice while encouraging me to think positively. Choosing Poonam was the right decision and best choice I have ever made in my application process – WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BRILLIANT LADY!

I want to start by mentioning that I was not an MBA applicant and I worked with Poonam for help with my essays for applying for an MHA ( the admission says business school but I didn't apply for their MBA). I always thought of myself as a good writer because I usually write a lot, however, I was glad that I had Poonam's services to guide me and edit my work because the essays that I had written on my own before working with Poonam were not even close to as well structured and written as the essays Poonam helped me on. I want to mention that I got the two essay package and Poonam helped edit my statement and scholarship essay for my main program. I was admitted to the program that I wanted and I'm sure the essays were a big factor in determining my admission. Overall, I enjoyed working with her and she was very understanding and more flexible than it says on her website. I was kind of late a few times getting my essays to her but she was always very helpful and on time. She was refreshing and honest compared to many of the other companies that I talked with and not mention affordable. With her help, I wrote an essay with a story that stood out and definitely got into a much better program than I thought I could. I had slightly over a 3.2 but my essays and extracurriculars definitely helped a lot.
