Hello, I took up the GMAT today, for the second time and scored an underwhelming 610 (Q47 V 28). My first attempt was on October 15th and i scored 620 (Q44 V 32). After 2 months of preparation, focused entirely on verbal my score dropped from 32 to 28, which was shocking, since my lowest score in the mock exams i had taken was 36! I was totally shattered to see a score of 610. I thought I had done really well in the verbal section, but apparently I was terribly mistaken.
I am desperately seeking advice on what to do next and I have absolutely no idea where I went wrong.
GMAT 1: 620 (Q44 V32)

The Second Attempt
For the second attempt, I focused entirely on verbal. Signed up with
magoosh. Watched the videos and found them useful. The practice questions were also pretty good and my verbal score had gone up significantly. I took a few practice tests and my lowest score was 650. The lowest i got in verbal was 35. Ironically I did not practice much of math and my score went up on the actual GMAT.

Test Day Experience
My exam was scheduled at 9am on the 10th of December. I woke up at 6:45, had a light breakfast and headed to the test center. Had to wait for a while for the verification and other formalities. The AWA section was simple. The topic was based on a cell phone manufacturing company and their proposal to purchase raw materials in large quantities. The IR section was also pretty straightforward and was relatively easy. I was off to a good start and things seemed to be going well. After the IR section, I took the optional break. Stretched out, had a glass of water and headed back to the room.
The Quant section started off with an easy question and most of the questions seemed to be ok, not very difficult. There was only one probability question and a couple of geometry questions. The general difficulty level of the Quant section was not very high. Next up was verbal and the section started off with a CR question, followed by a couple of SC questions, There were 4 RC passages (3 short and 1 long), nothing scientific. I was able to answer most of the questions right and the SC questions were also easy. I was expecting a verbal score of around 38. I finished the verbal section well ahead of time and finished filling in the rest of the forms.
At the end of the exam, I clicked the option report scores and was left dumbstruck on seeing the score. I was totally appalled with my score and was unable to open my mouth and speak for a while. 28 in verbal was ridiculously low! I really have no clue as to what happened in the verbal section
I'm really depressed and demotivated. Really don't know what to do next. Looking for some help/advice!
