690 - Retake GMAT

Hi all,

I would like to get into a top 20 US MBA program for 2017 admission. I recently retook the GMAT (first time was in 2012, 630) and scored a 690; however, my score breakdown is: IR – 7/81%tile; Quant – 45/62%tile; Verbal – 40/91%tile.
By the time of my application I will have been working for 4 years, ~ 3 at the same company.
So, do I retake the GMAT to get a higher Quant score?

Thank you for the post. Based on this limited information, I recommend retaking it to try to improve your quant. That said, I would really need to know more information about you:

Undergrad school / GPA
Current company / role
Extra-curriculars
Post-MBA goals
Target schools (within top 20)

For Top 20, indeed you will need a higher overall score,

I would retake the GMAT given your target schools, generally most programs in the top 20 average above a 700 and without know much else about your profile I would recommend retaking

Agree with the rest. You should probably retake the test. One thing I would add though, if you have a really high GPA in a quant heavy major from a good school, that might help you out a bit.
