Congrats!! That's an amazing score, what schools are you targeting?

I've been changing my list of schools a lot and think I have it locked down finally:

HBS
Ross
Chicago GSB
Kellog
Cornell
Wharton

I'll proably do 4 for R1 and 2 for R2.

1) I read all the books at one time and only used the practice questions in the books. Afterwards I went through OG11.

2) I don't remember the exact order I went in, but I think I did all of PR first, then Kaplan800, and finally OG11.

3) I am not familiar with diagramming, so I am guessing I didn't do it. For the CR problems I basically read the question, read the prose, prephrased a question and then checked the given answers.

Thank you for replying forcefeed. Good luck with your application process.

For CR I pretty much just did practice sets. One thing to remember is the inference questions are looking for the slightest of inferences. If you think one of the answers is pretty much stated and not inferred, that is probably the right answer.

Hey Forcefeed can u asnwer the following :

1) Are the MGMAT tests comparable to the GMATPrep ? I took one of their tests and got a 31 on the verbal .. Their logic seems way different from the GMATPrep esp on CR and RC.

2) I have an issue with SC. A lot of times i realise I am down to 2 responses but I choose the wrong one. (maybe time i dont know) Is there any way to remedy that ?

3) I am making stupid mistakes on the math... calculation errors or just dumb errors.. Its like I know how to do the problems but I make a mistake and it gives me the wrong answer. How do I remedy this ? Esp on word problems .

4) I have about 2 weeks to go. i am done with the OG guide .. what should be my strategy from here on out ?

1) I would say they are fairly comparable. My scores on MGMAT cats were similar to GMATPrep & the actual GMAT.

2) I think that will come with more practice. Does it seem like there is a common error that you always miss on? It might mean you need to practice a specific topic more.

3) I was making stupid errors, I stopped that by writing down the specifics the question gives you, i.e. positive, even, integer, etc.

4) Practice CATs and reviewing your error log.

Forcefeed,

Thanks for ur details. I got a 610 on GMAT and am on NYU waitlist for Fall 07. I am starting to study for Spring and maynot have not have my re-app ready by sept 15.

But thx man for taking the time to write these - I will follow ur guidelines and lets see how far I go.

Congrats!

Are you still on the WL? Good luck with getting a late admit, there is another board member that just got accepted to Cornell recently.

A few more points on the GMAT could have you piling up UE admits!

Actually I got waitlisted on July 24. On other board I heard that abt 420 students hv paid the 1K deposit to secure the admission. I hv lost hopes that I would get in - but you never know.
