I. \(\frac{12}{80}*100 = 15\)
II. \(\frac{12}{120}*100 = 10\)

Total stock earlier is \(15 + 10 = 25\), Stock now is \(12*2 = 24\), Thus, Difference is 1 ton (Decrease), Answer is (B)

Solution:

Let x and y be the original number of tons of flour in the first and second storehouses, respectively. We can create the equations:

1.2x = 12

and

0.8y = 12

Solving the first equation, we have x = 12/1.2 = 10 and solving the second equation, we have y = 12/0.8 = 15. Therefore, the total amount of flour in the two storehouses was 10 + 15 = 25 tons originally. Since that total is 12 + 12 = 24 tons now, we see that the total amount of flour is decreased by 1 ton.

Let the initial stock in the first warehouse be 'x' and the second warehouse be 'y'.

After a 20% decrease since yesterday[first warehouse] and the 20% increase since yesterday[second warehouse], it has 12 tons of flour

Current stock: x + y = 12 + 12 = 24

=> (x +y) * \(\frac{80 }{ 100}\) * \(\frac{120 }{ 100}\) = 24

=> x + y = \(\frac{(24 * 100 * 100) }{ (80 * 120)}\)

Previous stock: x + y = 25

1-ton decrease.
