First time 1/3rd was used.
Second time 1/3rd of the remaining. I. E. 1/3of2/3
Remaining=1-1/3-2/9=4/9
Imo, option D

3rd day; 4/9

Paint used in day 1 = x/3 ==> remaining paint = 2x/3

paint used in day 2 = 2x/3 * 1/3 = 2x/9

Remaining paint = 2x/3 -2x/9 = (6x-2x) /9 = 4x/9

fraction of original paint remaining = (4x/9) / x = 4/9==Option D
