IMO Answer is A .
Taking approach of co-ordinate geometry, if we know angle ACB and assuming point C as origin we can find co-ordinates ofpoint A and point B . And so we also find the mid point of point A and point B. Once done we can calculate distance between two points D and C.

But option 2 will not help find anything necessary.

See the attached diagram. We have no idea of where point D lies and A gives us no clue about its position.

Yes..my bad..i lose much of my marks by bad reading. Dont know hoe I read tgat point D is at the center of line. This has to stop otherwise I will not score much in GMAT.
