The argument tells us:

- the women of the Asante people of Ghana participated in war as nurses or as providers of supplies...
- many old women engaged in valiant acts, sometimes sacrificing their own lives, ...

So some of these women who worked as nurses or as suppliers sacrificed their lives in valiant acts. It means they died in battle.

(C) Some of those who worked as nurses or as providers of supplies died in battle.

Only C makes sense.

Information supplied by A, B, D, and E can't be verified from the passage.

Remaining all options are extreme or Out of Scope

Correct me if I am wrong.
In the given question
"the women of the Asante people of Ghana participated in war as nurses or as providers of supplies, but only those who had not yet reached or who were past childbearing age did so."
I inferred the above as that the women of the Asante people of Ghana participated in war as nurses or as providers of supplies but those who are not yet reached were who were past childbearing age.

Per this I think we cannot infer C as author is mute on nurses or as providers of supplies whether dead or living.
Anyone kindly explain.

Main group A : Asante women
Subgroup B : who participated in war as nurses or as providers of supplies: they are those who are not in child bearing age

"As such, many old women engaged in valiant acts," -----> bold part refers to Group B.
".......sometimes sacrificing their own lives" ---------> Few from group B must have died

C states the same. Some of those who worked as nurses or as providers of supplies (Group B) died in battle.

Whenever we have inference question in CR we need to look out for choice which is not extreme and convey what is there in argument

A- wrong as lament means sorrow . argument mention nothing about sorrow after death of anybody so OUT

B-nothing about courageous is there in argument so OUT

C-this choice talks about some cases,which can be easily proveable and hold as part of argument

D-nothing is given about special status so Out

E- irrelevant and also too extreme

So C is best choice
