Learn the shortcuts presented in Veritas topics (posted by Bunuel) on key categories, such as Number properties, Work/rate, Word, Sets, Absolute values, etc. They are called somewhat like "Overlapping sets made easy/Combinatorics made easy"
Those articles aimed to work out and adjust alternate time-saving solutions, I found it very useful and it helped me to score 49 on DS section of the real GMAT.
On the remaining, just keep practicing and derive your strategy that you feel most comforatble in terms of timing and efficiency.

Dear fellows,

I'm experiencing difficulties on hard quant questions. I'm quite comfortable in easy and medium question in most cases (70-80% accuracy), however when it comes to hard questions I get stuck and this makes me nervous. In fact, in high school math was favorite and strong side. Now, I feel like I don't know all the theory. Thus, can someone kindly provide a link that contains all the theory that is needed to score Q51? Also is there something special I must do to score Q51 in quant?

Thanks and happy learning:)

Apart from what Bunuel mentioned, I would say make sure that you have close to 100% accuracy on lower level question at a speed of close to 90 sec per question.
For e.g, you can target below 600 level questions within 60 secs and 600-700 level question within 90 sec. This will save significant time for you to work on difficult questions.

Regardless of how much time you're spending reviewing the quant questions you do, you should probably be spending even more time on it.

The key to solving hard problems really quickly is recognition. You don't want to 'work out the solution from scratch' when you see the problem - you'll probably get it right if you're strong in Quant, but it'll take more than 2 minutes. Instead, you want to recognize bits and pieces of other problems that you've already solved before, so that you know what to do pretty much right away, as soon as you see the problem. However, since you won't see the exact same problems on the test that you've done while practicing, this is a tough skill to develop. The best way to develop it more quickly is to review every Quant problem you do in depth (including the ones you get right), and try to figure out the critical steps you had to take, and more importantly, how you knew you were supposed to take those steps.

I would suggest you to go through the errors you have made and check whether you are making conceptual errors or calculation errors. If they are calculation errors, you need to be careful while doing calculations and in case they are conceptual errors, I would suggest you to check the topics in which you are going conceptually wrong and go through the concepts of those topics in detail and solve a few questions on those concepts. That would be helpful in increasing your score and even solve difficult questions.
