The primary responsibility for protecting environment belongs to private industry and individuals, rather than the government.
I disagree with the preposition that the primary responsibility for protecting environment belongs to private industry and individuals, rather than government. This statement is flawed since it does not take into consider the role that the government can play in the preservation of our environment.
During big bang, when the earth was created, the nature was at its best, then the evolution of the man took place and it became more civilised refining the gifts of nature, but intentionally or intentionally, destroying our nature and environment along the way.
We as individuals can make a conscious effort to ensure that we can do our minimum to save the environment from further degradation. Simple tasks such as avoid wastage of electricity or water, reduced deforestation, reduced use of plastics; recycling of old bottles are the basic things that we can do to save our environment.
The private industries on the other hand, with access to huge human resources can play a very important role in sensitizing the people about the present deteriorating conditions of the environment and the potential hazards we might face if corrective measures aren’t taken now. These organisations can conduct campaigns, workshops and drives like cleanliness drives. E.g. Infosys Limited regularly conducts educational, cleanliness drives under the corporate responsibility activities. It is more out of voluntary choice rather than a forced option.
But despite all the efforts taken by private organisations and individuals, the government cannot ignore its own responsibility. After all, the government is selected by people, to make a difference for the betterment of the country, in terms of economic, cultural, political as well as environmental. The government needs to formulate policies to ensure that the people or organisations, who are exploiting the environment and nature to make petty profits, are brought under scanner. Rules for activities such as maintaining minimum percentage of area under forest cover, permissible percentage of pollutants to be released into air, garbage disposal, proper sanitation, unregulated deforestation etc., if strictly implemented can bring about defining changes in the environment.
The government can play a very important in formulating and implementing the policies for the betterment of the environment and the society as the whole. The responsibility of following these rules and policies is on us, hence the combined efforts of the government, private organisations and individuals in their own capacity can play a major role in protecting the environment from further degradation.

The Cumquat Restaurant made a mistake moving to a new location. Two years after it moved to the location, its sales revenue does not improve much while the Chain Store that took over the old location dramatically increase their revenue.
Well, the Cumquat Restaurant owners moved to a new location 2 years back, with the hope of changing the fortunes of their business with the place but coincidently that didn't happen. We need to analyse the reasons that could be responsible for it.
First, as it stated that the Chain store that took over their location and has made remarkable profits in their business, we need to understand that the 2 businesses are not related to each other and cater to different sectors; hence success of one sector cannot be the bench mark or the defining parameter for the success of the other.
Secondly, the original place might be suited for shops like a chain store; hence it registered more profits that what cumquat restaurant made when it was located there.
Thirdly, nothing has been mentioned about the selection of the new place where the Cumquat restaurant moved to, about its location, strategy behind choosing the location, expected number of customers, the kind of cuisine offered. There are lot of things that need to be considered while shifting to a new location along with the above mentioned things. e.g.: Are the restaurant owners having a lot of competition with other restaurant’s in the same locality, what kind of cuisine is cumquat restaurant offering, are they giving any kind of discounts to lure customers, did they do sufficient marketing to make their presence felt.
Since all this information is not available, it will be unfair to compare the chain store success with the failure of cumquat restaurant business strategy.
Thanks
