Any intel on admissions? Any other interesting info come out?

Wow, so they do keep tabs on us here?!?! Well in case you're reading this Mary, just for the record, I will rescind all other apps should I be accepted ED.

Good for CBS to check whether people are honoring the code.

Agreed, they should definitely ensure the code is being followed. However, it makes me wonder whether they are only looking into your online persona after they extend an ED offer, or if they are using it as part of the admissions decision? And if so, where else are they looking? Facebook, twitter? I guess it's all fair game in the online age, but I had always figured the adcom would be too busy to spend time digging around online.

I'm absolutely going to keep working on my apps until I hear that I'm in Columbia. The school is just too competitive to put all your eggs in that basket. That being said, Columbia is the right school for me and I really hope to be admitted!

Yes, 5 bucks - for the instant GPA calculation - unofficial ofcourse - since it's self reported.

Completely agree with Moss here. Also, no one is breaking the honor code simply by applying to other B Schools in regular rounds (and not in EDs and EAs).

The adcom too should realize that the delay in decisions (ranting on the delay starts again!) is affecting our chances at other schools in case we get dinged by Columbia
In short we should get the decisions sooner!!!

Waiting is much harder than I had anticipated. I was so happy this morning when my app went to being printed and prepared for review, progress! I don't know how I'm going to last until the decision...

Wow, is this forum alive! I've decided to throw in my hat for RD, plan to submit early November after host visit program.

Sorry if this is covered already, I made it through two dozen pages, but couldn't find it. Awesome posts about LawgoneBusiness' story though, enjoyed reading those!

So ED ends Oct 6th, then they start reviewing RD applications in December. I assume that if I submit Oct 6th RD then I will be in the first wave of applications reviewed in Dec? Also, I dont recall ever seeing a decision notification date for RD? Anyone know approximately?

RD is rolling admission so that means they will review in the order of submission. they did away with the timeline this year for both ED and RD.

well i did atleast and gt my unofficial GPA > a 3.7! (i feel so much more smarter nw )

brainhurt - cud u pls update my gpa in the spreadsheet pls? nt tht imp really,,leave it upto u...i had a first class which as per the columbia site equated to a 4.0 which i used in their online app..but since i knew it was unrealistic for it to be a 4.0, i put a 3.0 in the spreadsheet form (i knw i knw,,,no logic whatsoever!)

I changed it to 3.8 :shrug:

In the application section it asks how we will be funding our MBA. I have some savings, but will probably be loaning most of the funds. That being said, I haven't applied or been approved for any loans, federal or otherwise. Is it OK to say we're going to be borrowing $X to fund CBS even if we haven't been extended credit yet?

Oh wow....they (WES) calculate my GPA as 3.99

What do you say guys? Should I submit this GPA as taken from WES?

Moss - I just left the borrowing piece blank.

I always knew how expensive this MBA would be, but yesterday I almost had a heart attack after doing some planning and realizing how much I will be buried in debt after school. I need to focus on financial aid from now until next August.
