can you add me to the list as well......submitted on 10/09, no interview yet

Since you received a Wharton interview, I fully expect you to receive a Chicago GSB interview ;)

Quote from the October 8 GSB Admissions chat to consider. Even though I think a higher percentage of us on GMATclub will receive interviews, we are quickly approaching the standard 50%.

Quote:
Xinlei: My last question is how many students will be invited to be interviewed. What's normally the percentage?
Rose: Great question. Depending on the year we roughly invite 50% of applicants from each round to interview with us.

Wharton has a lower invite rate, around 40%.

it is looking kind of grim for the remaining applicants but I am sure we can squeeze out a few more

Yeah Wharton invites 40-50% of their applicants.

I wonder if the GMATClub crowd is representative of the general ChicagoGSB pool. Outside of the level of involvement, I think many have submitted quite early. I am sure that's much more than the general population.

Why is it looking grim? We are only a little over half way through the invite period. They wouldn't make the thing two weeks long if they only planned to send out invites in the first week. Worry next Wednesday at 4:59pm CST.

I don't think that is really true actually.

They interview 50% of applicants. I believe that would be overall. My guess is a slightly higher percentage of applicants get invited to interview in RD1 than RD2. Then RD3 interview invite percentage is probably super small. So really, it could be something like Rd 1- 60%, Rd 2- 50%, Rd 3- 20%. No analysis behind those numbers, just throwing random figures out.

On top of that, people here on GMATclub would probably be considerd a very strong applicant pool in terms of time and dedication spent on the process. I would guess our applicant pool here would be somewhat above the average applicant pool for GSB as a whole.

I would guess that over 60% of GMATclub Rd 1 applicants receive interview invites for Chicago. Of course I also prefer an optomistic thought process to that of doom and gloom.

Let's keep our spirits up guys! Remember last year, I believe close to, if not, all of R1 Gmatclubbers got interview invitations. I don't expect we'll repeat that same success, but let's have faith that we will do better than the general applicant pool.

I predict a bundle of new invites between Monday-Wednesday next week. If GMATClub's rate is not much better than the general applicant pool rate, I think that's just a sign of the times (app volume).

I hope you are right - I wasn't expecting today to be a quiet day. I am hoping Obama's speech in Chicago Tuesday night is a cause of some of this or application volume!

I have no clue what this is going to be, and it seems that nobody around me does.

They could have just emailed me rather than do all this to announce my interview invitation. Having a press conference and calling it "historic" seems a bit extreme, but I'll be happy to accept the invite.
