I am currently working for a market research firm, 4 years of experience as a Senior Project Manager. I would like to switch to Managment Consulting firms post MBA. Not sure whether a part-time MBA is good enough or I really need to go for a FT? Currently making 95K plus bonus, so it'll be a kill for me to quit.
Any advice would be appreicated!
You can potentially land a consulting job, but you're going to want to get an internship. Most PT programs are 3 years long and allow you to do an internship between your 2nd and 3rd years. This could allow you to keep your job and quit only if you get an internship at an MC firm that you're shooting for.
Booth is probably the best-suited PT MBA program for pulling this off, but Anderson and Haas have great PT programs as well. I'd imagine that your current location is going to be a big driver in determining whether it's feasible to attend any of these programs.
