Eric is ordering a pizza. He wants three different toppings on his pizza, and the available toppings are pepperoni, sausage, black olives, green peppers, and mushrooms. How many different combinations of toppings are available?

A. 5
B. 10
C. 15
D. 30
E. 60

There are 5 toppings available -

1. Pepperoni
2. Sausage
3. Black olives
4. Green Peppers
5. Mushrooms

So, the number of different combinations of toppings possible is \(5C_3 = 10\)

Hence, answer must be (B) 10

Since Eric wants 3 toppings and he can choose from 5, there are 5C3 = 5!/[3!(5-3)!] = (5 x 4 x 3)/3! = (5 x 4 x 3)/(3 x 2) = 10 different combinations of toppings available.
