I've made my decision so I guess it's time to post my profile.

Program: MBA FT
Area of interest in MBA: PE/VC or IB transactions focusing on China
GMAT: 780 50Q/51V/6.0AWA, first time 730
GPA: Comfortably below 3.0, English Major at UCLA, JD from Michigan Law School
Work experience(WE): 2 years finance and capital markets lawyer, 4 years entrepreneur dealing with China
Nationality: Chinese, been in the US since I was 1
Age: pretty damn old
Extracurriculars/community: Fraternity founder, elected VP, historian, rush chair; represented female inmates suing the Michigan department of corrections; drafted briefs in support humanitarian relief from deportation; worked pro-bono to assist immigrants that lost their businesses in 9/11; adopted and care for 2 special needs dogs; fluent Chinese speaker.

Schools applied to - in the order I heard results more or less:

School 1: Wharton
Status: Denied without interview

School 1: Chicago
Status: Denied without interview

School 1: Duke
Status: Admitted

School 1: Columbia
Status: Waitlisted and Withdrawn

School 1: Cornell
Status: Withdrawn After I got my Duke decision

School 1: Michigan
Status: Withdrawn They misplaced my rec, even after someone confirmed via email it would be added to my file. They told me they would consider me for R3, I told them I was tired of waiting.

School 1: UCLA
Status: Admitted

School 1: Darden
Status: Admitted and Matriculating

School 1: Stanford
Status: Withdrawn Actually, with no interview invite, they have surely dinged me, but I'm beating them to the punch.

School 1: Berkeley
Status: Withdrawn

Final score: 3 admits / 2 dings / 1 WL then withdrawn / 1 f*ck up then withdrawn / 1 anticipatory withdrawal / 2 withdrawn. I'll be releasing my Duke & UCLA admits and my spot on the Columbia WL on Monday. Hopefully someone from the GMATclub will benefit.

pelihu, is this for real? why would you wtihdraw from all these places and not wait out the decision? It is not like you have anything to lose, and you already put a lot of hard work into it. I just don't get it...

Thanks Peli. Not because I'm waiting for those schools, but because I'm on the waitlist at another school and would love to see more people voluntarily withdraw if they know where they are heading.
