I go with A

A - "their" clearly refers to the bees
B - it is not clear who is releasing the bees. It also kind of change the meaning.
C - change meaning
D - change meaning

IMO C

Lets put the sentence the other way :
their decendents had migrated from as far as north .....in less than ... sounds correct
hence eliminate : A D E
now left out : B C
Among B and C ,C is a better construction using "since" ..."had been "

OA pls :-D

Quote:
Less than 35 years after the release of African honeybees outside Sao Paulo, Brazil, their descendants , popularly known as killer bees , had migrated as far north as southern Texas

A) Less than 35 years after the release of African honeybees outside Sao Paulo, Brazil,
B) In less than 35 years since releasing African honeybees outside Sao Paulo, Brazil,
C) In less than 35 years since African honeybees had been released outside Sao Paulo, Brazil,
D) It took less than 35 years from the release of African honeybees outside Sao Paulo, Brazil,
E) It took less than 35 years after the time that African honeybees were released outside Sao Paulo, Brazil, and then

A) Correct
B) Changes meaning to "their descendants" released the African honeybees.
C) Verb tense is wrong -- need simple past tense
D) Turns sentence into a non-sentence
E) Way too wordy, among other problems
